Feature Release: Field Sampling & Hot-fix Release

Enhancements:

Cross Compatibility

All sampling events that are created in AgVerdict Next are visible in AgVerdict Classic and vice-versa.  There is no difference between events created in one or the other.  All events created in AgVerdict Next are visible in Classic reports and any bulk import operations performed in Classic will be seen within Next.

The iOS application has not been modified in any way.  All sampling events created in AgVerdict Next can be sampled using the same app.

Sampling Event List

All sampling events that a user has permission to view are now viewable within the Events page.  This page can be accessed directly from the new sampling button on the main page, from the fields view -> view events, and from other event tabs via navigation at the top.

+ New Sampling Event and Menu changes

A new button has been added to the context menu for fields, blocks, and sub-blocks to launch the creation of sampling events.  To view sampling events for specific lands or growers, the Event list can be accessed via the existing buttons for accessing recommendations and application events (e.g., “View Events”).

Create Sample Event

Sampling event creation has been implemented in AgVerdict Next.  The overall process has been streamlined to incorporate all actions into a single form that covers both soil and tissue sampling as well as all sampling methods (Grid, Directed, Zone, Composite).

For those branches which use multiple commodities within their sampling events, these can be accessed by pressing “Advanced Options” at the top of the page.

Zone and imagery overlays are available through the map sample points, as well as the ability to automatically place grid points and manually place directed sampling points.

View and Edit sampling events

Sampling events can be viewed and edited via the context menu within the Sample Event List.  This context menu is opened by pressing on the eyeball icon in the far right column.  Once an event has gone through sampling, the edit options will be limited.

Reports

All reports are a reproduction of the documents from Classic and are accessible from the event list context menu.  Up to 3 documents are visible: Lab Results (only available once results have been received from the lab), Lab Check-in sheet, and the Sampling Summary.

Clicking on any of the documents will take the user to a reports section where the check-in sheet and results sheet will both show previews.

Within Lab Results, full reports will only be generated for those elements which are selected in the grid.  Once selected, Email and View Report options will be enabled.  Additionally, a preview of the measurement can be seen by clicking on the name of the element within the grid.

Any of the results can be selected for email or immediate viewing.

Known Issues and interactions

Since this is a v1 release of Sampling in Next, there are some known issues.

  1. Event List does not have column chooser enabled at this time
  2. Event List does not have select all enabled at this time
  3. Zone and regular overlays must be set up through AgVerdict Classic at this time
  4. The “Complete” button can be accessed through Classic and not Next at this time
  5. When a sampling layer is used for multiple events, it is copied within the system.  Sampling layers do not need to have unique names – it is recommended that when making any changes to a sample layer, it is saved under a different name.
  6. Documents take a while to render
  7. Zone Composite events have the same limitations as under AgVerdict Classic.  It is recommended that Zone Directed is used as a proxy for this sampling method at this time.
