In the information below, we have explanations on where the different product lists are pulled from as well as how they are managed.
Feature Area : Recommendations
Fertilizers
Custom Blends
- These products come from AgVance and are put in the groupings / blendsets that are set up in AgVance. We do a nightly sync at 2 am PST of AgVance and update our information in AgVerdict. If a product is added into AgVance, it appears in AgVerdict the next day after the sync.
- In a pinch the Customer Support team can perform a sync not on the scheduled time. This was not exposed to the end users because our contract with AgVance is based on the number of API calls we do. We wanted to make sure we did not run up a very expensive bill quickly by giving this ability to our users. We can re-evaluate if the scheduled sync is causing major pain points.
- The Density, Physical State, Guaranteed Analysis SKU, etc all come from AgVance. If any of the attributes about a fertilizer are modified in AgVance they appear that way in AgVerdict. This allows for the standard workflow that many branches already have using AgVance.
- Inventory for these products comes from JDE. We get a nightly sync from JDE for each branch with a SKU that has an inventory. We match it up and display that to the end user.
- For those branches that do not use AgVance we can create blend facilities and blendsets in AgVerdict that are not related to AgVance. These would be managed on the back end via the Customer Support team. We have done this for our licensed customers and it works well.
- At this point blends are not available to be consumed in Variable Rate.
Base Products
- This list comes from both the AgVerdict database and CDMS.
- The products that come from AgVerdict can be used in Variable Rate because we have the appropriate attributes in order to do the correct math on that product for VR.
- IF A PRODUCT HAS A SKU / JDE NUMBER, it comes from AgVerdict. These are not label checked in any way.
- Our managed base fertilizers can only be used on a “Per Acre” basis.
- IF THE PRODUCT DOES NOT HAVE A SKU, it comes from CDMS. These are label checked via CDMS.
- CDMS fertilizers come with “per 100 gallon” options.
- For the Base Products coming directly from AgVerdict we want Density, Guaranteed Analysis, Physical State, and JDE number. This allows for proper math, conversions, and interactions with JDE.
- We realize because of the VR this will not be completely possible. But if it is possible, we want those attributes.
- ALL LIQUID PRODUCTS that come from AgVerdict can be converted to UOMs of a weight basis. The density allows for this conversion and it was added recently.
Plant Protection Products
-
CDMS Database
- This is a listing of all products and uses that are manufacturer approved for a given product.
- Each use is identified with a specific use number that is based on commodity, state, county, application method, product, and specified product use selected by the end user.
- Once a use is selected the label check is performed based on Rate, Spray Volume, Soil Type, Texture, pH, OM, combinations, adjuvants, etc.
- AgVerdict Fertilizer Base Products do not get passed to CDMS as adjuvant fertilizers in any way. However, the adjuvant warning is no longer a hard stop and the end user can proceed if an adjuvant is not selected.
-
User Label Products (Current Practice)
- These product uses are not manufacturer approved and there is no liability protection with these products. USE AT OWN RISK.
- User Labels are managed by CDMS. These products are denoted by “*” in the name of the product.
- These products are synced to the CDMS database where only Wilbur-Ellis Company users can see these products
- User label products historically have had fertilizers in them. We plan to stop this practice unless the fertilizer product has an EPA number.
- If the product is sold by Wilbur-Ellis Company and is a fertilizer it will be added to the base products for fertilizers.

CDMS Database
- The Application Event is a record of what is performed on a field. We filter the product list but do not actually label check the final uses.
- This is a listing of all products and uses that are manufacturer approved for a given product.
- Each use is identified with a specific use number that is based on commodity, state, county, application method, product, and specified product use selected by the end user.
- There is no label check in the application event. We filter products on the above bullet point but we do not perform the final label check and individuals can be off label for rate, spray volume, etc
User Label Products (Current Practice)
- These product uses are not manufacturer approved and there is no liability protection with these products. USE AT OWN RISK.
- User Labels are put in the system by a couple of individuals within Wilbur-Ellis Company. These products are denoted by “*” in the name of the product.
- These products are synced to the CDMS database where only Wilbur-Ellis Company users can see these products
- User label products historically have had fertilizers in them. We plan to stop this practice unless the fertilizer product has an EPA number.
- If the product is sold by Wilbur-Ellis Company and is a fertilizer it should be added to the base products for fertilizers.
AdHoc Products
- If a user has created an AdHoc Product it will appear in the appropriate product type list defined by the user when selecting the product.
