Creating a Scouting Template

The Scouting Template Authoring Tool allows the user to create, manage and share custom scouting templates.

Create a New Scouting Template

1.  On the top of your AgVerdict home page, select Tools.

2.  Select Scouting Templates.

Note: A template may already exist that will suit your needs, so view the existing templates before creating a new template.

3. Select Create New.

4. First, give your template a Name and a Description if desired.

5. Select the pests to be included in the template by checking the box next to the pest name.

6. Once you have all the pests added, they can be seen by selecting Template.

7. Observation Controls will need to be selected for each pest. This can be done individually or in bulk.

8.To add observation controls for multiple pests at a time, click on Select Multiple.

9. Next, check the boxes for all desired pests.

10. Choose a control to add to the pest by clicking on the + button. You may add multiple controls to the pests.

11. In the pop-up box, select all options and Save.

NOTE: Checking Required Field will force user to fill in the count.

Checking Display Label will display the Title as a label above the control in the observation screen on the device. Checking Include in View Summary will show this in the observation list item in the observations list on the device. If there are many controls, only the first couple will be shown in the list.

12. After adding controls for multiple pests, click Save.

13. Add more controls if desired.

14. Controls may be edited or deleted by using the delete and edit icons.

15. Add controls for all pests. (Steps 9-11)

16. Assign the template to commodities by selecting Commodity.

17. In the pop-up box, choose commodities for this scouting template. Make sure to choose both plural and singular commodities.  Click Save.

18. Assign the template to branches by clicking on Branches.

19. In the pop-up box, choose Branch(es) for this scouting template. Click Save.

20. Select Active to allow the template to be usable.
Active = Makes the template go live.
Inactive = Will not expose the template to users. You can always activate it at a later time.
Make the template Active only if you are ready for your users to start scouting using this template immediately.

21. Click Save.

Filter and Sort Scouting Template List

The scouting template list may be filtered by Name, Commodities, Branches, Creator, Modifier or Status. This list may also be sorted by clicking on the blue column titles.

1. To filter the list, click on the filter icon next to the header.

2. Select desired options and click anywhere to close the drop down menu.
